Since this journey began in 2011, I’ve written a number of update letters.  It’s important to keep in touch with people who are passionate about this mission, as well as to give God the glory for the work that He is doing in CAR.

There is a lot of news since I last wrote to you.  This is an exciting and challenging time to be serving in CAR.  As you read this, I hope you’ll be in awe of the way that God has richly blessed this ministry and the love that He has for His children.

In late January, the Lord allowed me to visit the orphanage for the first time since October 2012.  Violent rebel activity started in late 2012 which has made travel in CAR extremely dangerous, but things have settled down enough to make the trip possible this year.

It’s been a difficult year in Central African Republic.  The situation from day to day is very unstable. It’s a dangerous time for anyone to live in CAR.  Political and religious violence still takes place as the people struggle for control of their country.

Due to the rebel takeover of the government in March, 2013 has been a challenging year to do anything in Central African Republic.  Earlier in the year, looting, violence, and killings were common in the country.
